Shape your own path in the liberal arts and sciences with K’s flexible and integrated approach to academics.
With 32 majors, 22 minors and 13 concentrations, students can customize their experiences for a personalized approach to their college education. There’s no need to follow a prescribed list of general education requirements with our flexible curriculum.
Unsure of your major? Don’t worry.
Kalamazoo College is one of the best colleges for undecided majors because our students wait until the second term of sophomore year to officially declare their majors—while still typically graduating in four years. If you already know what major interests you, you can start taking classes in your field of study right away.

Areas of Study (Majors, Minors, Concentrations and Programs)
Pre-Professional Preparation
While Kalamazoo College does not offer pre-health or pre-law majors, we do provide advising and resources that help you connect your academic interests with future careers in areas such as health, medicine and law. Because these fields value strong analytical thinking, communication, problem-solving and ethical reasoning, K’s liberal arts foundation offers excellent preparation for any of them, no matter which major you choose.
Careers in Health and Medicine. The Careers in Health and Medicine Office supports students as they explore graduate and professional programs across health fields. Through advising, workshops, experiential opportunities and application guidance, you’ll receive assistance as you prepare for careers in medicine, public health, veterinary medicine, dentistry and related professions.
Careers in Law (formerly Pre-Law Advising). The Career and Professional Development Center and K faculty provide guidance to help you understand the skills law schools value, explore both JD and non-JD legal careers, connect with alumni working in legal professions, and access resources that support your preparation for law school.
