…but not sure what kind of event you would like to host. We can help!
Lux Local Regional Event Host
Lux Local gatherings bring Hornets together in communities across the country. These events provide an opportunity for alumni and friends of Kalamazoo College to learn about campus updates, connect, build community, and enjoy time together.
Alumni can help make a gathering possible by serving as a local host and providing event support, while the Office of Alumni Engagement handles the planning, logistics, and communications. Lux Local gatherings are open to alumni, parents of current Kalamazoo College students, faculty, friends of the College, and, on occasion, President Karlyn Crowley.
Visit our calendar of events to see where Lux Local is happening next. We welcome the opportunity to connect with alumni interested in helping bring Lux Local to their community.
If you are interested in hosting a Lux Local Regional Event, please fill out the Hornet Host Event Form and select Lux Local Regional Event.
Lux Local Regional Event Host Information
Are you interested in hosting a Kalamazoo College Lux Local Regional Alumni Event? Do you have an amazing space you would like to share? Hosting an event can mean different things to different people. See the guide below and decide what works for you.
- “I have a space I think would work great for hosting a group but I will need assistance with the coordination of the event and will not be contributing to the
event financially.”
The Alumni Engagement team is always looking for fun and unique spaces to hold our regional events. This could be your home, a large office space, restaurant or any other type of venue you think would work in your area. You will be connected with our Alumni Event Specialist who will work with you to make sure the space is a good fit and plan food, beverage and any other necessary event support. The Office of Alumni Engagement will also promote the event and collect registrations and keep you updated on the guest count.
- “I have a space that would work and I can support the cost of food, beverage and other event needs but I would like to leave the planning process up to the College.”
The Alumni Event Specialist will coordinate the details of the event including food, beverage and other event details. The Office of Alumni Engagement will also promote the event and collect registrations and keep you updated on the guest count.
- “I’ve got this! I have a space, I will financially support the event including all food and beverage and plan the event details.”
Great! You can send all of the details to our Alumni Event Specialist who can help you with any questions you may have along the way. They will offer advice based on what has worked well at this style of event in the past and help to guide you through the planning process if you need. registrations and keep you updated on guest count.
- “I do not have a space but I would like to financially support a regional alumni event.”
