Kalamazoo College Announces 4+1 Business Master’s Pathway with University of Rochester’s Simon Business School

Business Master's Pathway between Kalamazoo College and the University of Rochester Simon Business School

Students in any major can earn a specialized business master’s one year after graduation, with a 30% scholarship toward their graduate studies

A new partnership between Kalamazoo College and the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School gives K students in every major, from chemistry to English to music, a direct one-year path to a master’s degree from a top-30 U.S. business school.

Through Simon’s 4+1 Business Master’s Pathway, students can pursue early admission at the same time they apply to Kalamazoo College or apply during their junior year at K. Students in the pathway may choose from five full-time, one-year master’s programs at Simon: business analytics, finance, management, marketing analytics, and artificial intelligence in business.

The 4+1 Business Master’s Pathway provides students with:

  • A guaranteed 30% tuition scholarship toward their master’s studies.
  • A streamlined application with no application fee.
  • The ability to apply without a GMAT or GRE score.
  • Early access to Simon’s Benet Career Management Center, including a summer workshop followed by up to three one-on-one career coaching sessions.
  • A direct path from undergraduate study to specialized graduate business training.

“Employers tell us they want people who can think across disciplines, adapt to change and take on challenging problems. That’s what a K education builds,” said Kalamazoo College President Karlyn Crowley. “Our partnership with Simon adds a business master’s to that foundation in just one more year. Students don’t have to choose between a major they’re passionate about and the career they want.”

Simon Business School is consistently ranked among the top business schools in the United States and is recognized for delivering a strong return on investment for graduates. It ranks in the top 30 among U.S. business schools in the Financial Times’ 2026 ranking.

“This partnership with Kalamazoo College reflects our shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality graduate education,” said University of Rochester Provost Nicole Sampson. “By working with Kalamazoo College and other outstanding partner institutions, we are enabling talented students to transition more easily from undergraduate to graduate study and prepare for successful careers with a Simon degree. Together, we are building a powerful bridge that expands opportunity and delivers lasting value for students and their families.”
