SET • MATCH • GIVE

For many alumni, giving back is something that happens once the career is settled and life slows down. Alex Cadigan ’19 began giving before he crossed the Commencement stage and hasn’t stopped since. Now he supports three areas that impacted him the most—and this fiscal year, we hope you’ll join him in making a gift to the Kalamazoo College Fund.

Kalamazoo College has had an enormous impact on Alex’s life. He majored in computer science and mathematics, was a teaching assistant, played on the men’s tennis team, and was a resident assistant (RA). He even met his fiancée, Cindy Xiao’18, another RA, while at K. The friendships and camaraderie from the tennis team are something he still values deeply today.

Through the “K to the Bay” trek to San Francisco, Alex was able to meet entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, lawyers, and startup founders, which gave him a view of the opportunities in the tech industry. He launched his software development career shortly after leaving K.

Alex says supporting K feels like a meaningful way to give back.

“I’m grateful for the opportunities, mentorship, and community that K provided. Programs like internships, career development resources, and experiential learning opportunities are incredibly valuable, and I hope my contributions help sustain them.

“For many of us, K played a defining role in shaping who we are today—our education, our careers, and many of our closest friendships began there. Supporting K is a way to help ensure that the same transformative opportunities remain available to future students. At a time when higher education faces significant challenges, alumni support is especially important in sustaining the programs and experiences that make K unique.”

Before June 30, join Alex in making your gift to the Kalamazoo College Fund and show that generosity for future K students doesn’t have to wait.
