Peer-to-Peer Empowerment:

Class Agents amplify the power of community to advance K. They create connectiveness to the College by encouraging conversation of shared experiences, educating on current K events and voicing support for the K mission. Using the power of peer-to-peer outreach to expand beyond your own individual contact list and extend into others’ social networks you are reaching countless individuals: the number of K alum family members, friends, coworkers and acquaintances. Your reach is limitless.

Shared memories and a combined desire to sustain Kalamazoo College for the traditions it holds, and the future it offers is why classmates are more likely to give when asked by you. The College appreciates your gift of time and is grateful for the exponential impact you make as a Class Agent.

Be in-the-Know:

The College Advancement division is a collection of departments including Development, Constituent Programs and Annual Giving, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Advancement Services, Alumni Engagement and College Marketing and Communications

The division’s core goal is to share the College’s vision, values and educational objectives by engaging the community and encouraging philanthropic investment. Each department works independently and collaboratively within the division, across campus and with alumni volunteers.

An example is when Constituent Programs and Annual Giving partners with Alumni Engagement to support their outreach effort for reunions. As you well know, the Kalamazoo College Fund (KCF), an identity of Constituent Programs and Annual Giving, houses the Class Agent Program. KCF Class Agents provide leadership for their class and are called to action to assist Alumni Engagement in reunion preparation and registration. We will honor the 4s and 9s this year!

Dollars to Impact:

Have you heard of Giving ZooDay? In 2023, Kalamazoo College added a personal twist to Giving Tuesday by taking the globally recognized day of giving and added a bit of K flare to it–Giving ZooDay! Just like Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday have their theme for spending money, Giving ZooDay is all about giving back and paying it forward.

Our first Giving ZooDay was a success with the combined effort of 54 donors contributing $27,303 to K student success. Excellent education opportunities, housing, dining, community spaces, unique events and activities for current and future students become possible because of the generosity of the alumni and associated donors that came before them.
