Spend an afternoon on campus and you’ll meet students who want to understand the world and then do something to change it. They work alongside faculty who know them by name. They test big ideas in small classrooms. They walk into their first job interview with real experience to talk about.

That work doesn’t stop at the edge of campus. We’re proud that Kalamazoo is in our name. This is a city that bets on itself. It reinvents. It reinvests. Our partnerships with local schools, organizations and employers make K stronger, and helping make Kalamazoo stronger is part of our job. So we’re rolling up our sleeves to build bold new partnerships across the city.

Which brings us back to what if? It’s our turn to ask what comes next. How do we prepare graduates for careers that artificial intelligence is already reshaping? How do we make the path from K to meaningful work clear from day one? How do we keep a K education within reach for talented students and their families? How do we help build a city where people are excited to put down roots?

My leadership philosophy is simple: Truth. Hope. Innovation. Joy. Appreciate where we are, imagine what’s possible, build it together—and have some fun along the way.
