“The most significant thing I’ve learned at K so far is the importance of community and balance. Being part of the men’s soccer team, Black Student Organization and the Hornet Investments Club has shown me how valuable it is to surround myself with a variety of people who challenge and support me in different ways. I’ve learned how to manage my time, stay committed and grow, both academically and personally. These experiences have taught me that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom but in every conversation, practice, meeting and moment when I choose to show up and engage fully.”

“Scholarships and financial aid are the reason I’ve been able to fully participate in the richness of the K experience. I’ve been able to say yes to opportunities—study abroad planning, internships and volunteerism—that have shaped who I am and what I hope to do in the world. That support is not just economic; it’s also a powerful message that my growth and voice matter. Donors make it possible for students like me to thrive—not just survive—at K. This support allows students from diverse backgrounds to grow as scholars, artists and leaders. I’ve had access to transformative experiences—from singing with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra to engaging in public health equity work. I feel incredibly grateful, and I hope to one day offer others the same generosity that was extended to me.” 

Giving ZooDay 2024

Annual giving doesn’t need to just support KCF. Our Giving ZooDay showed donors how to make one gift and create twice the impact through employer matching programs to ANY purpose, supporting all areas across campus. 133 donors contributed $41,092—discovering that their companies would match their gifts, putting more heart into K and more possibilities into students’ futures with every doubled donation.

Day of Gracious Giving 2025

This year’s Day of Gracious Giving took donors on an adventure, highlighting how K students explore and learn outside the classroom through internships, study abroad and hands-on learning. With 1,136 alumni, families and friends raising $505,538, the day showcased how alumni support for experiential learning opportunities help to prepare K graduates for life’s greatest adventures.

Leadership donors who contribute $1,833 or more each year to the Kalamazoo College Fund collectively gave $2,086,023 this year, helping to make so much possible at K, demonstrating exceptional dedication to day-to-day operations and student success. These 572 committed supporters understand that KCF helps to keep K running, and their generous gifts ensure we can provide consistent, reliable support for scholarships, faculty and essential programs year after year. By making leadership-level commitments, these donors ensure we can maintain K’s high standards while adapting to meet tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities.
