Visiting Assistant Professor of German Language and Culture
The Department of German Studies at Kalamazoo College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position for one year—September 2016 through June 2017. The successful applicant will contribute to teaching in the German Studies Department, and one course in the college’s Shared Passages general education program; supervise Senior Individualized Projects in the department; and supervise one or more teaching assistants from Germany. Course load is six courses per year (two each in three, 10-week quarters). Ph.D. in German (or evidence of imminent completion) and native or near-native abilities in German are required. We seek well-rounded candidates with training and experience in content-based foreign language instruction. Prior teaching experience at the college/university level is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate a strong interest in undergraduate teaching. The departmental website can be viewed here
