Brighter Opportunities

Scholarships and Financial Aid

For nearly every student and graduate of Kalamazoo College, financial aid opened the door to life-changing opportunities. The College has heightened its commitment to attracting exceptional students regardless of their financial means, and those students are increasingly diverse. K continues to become a richer learning community as a result. Yet building the K student body of the future comes with a significant price tag.

Financial aid is the College’s greatest annual expense, with 98% of K students receiving need-based and/or merit-based financial aid.

With your support, we can:
• attract and retain talented students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
• better meet the demonstrated need of every student
• ensure lower student debt upon graduation

Gifts for financial aid ensure that all talented students can have access to a K education.

The K-Plan: Making the Most of K’s Experiential Education

Beyond scholarships that provide for the core costs of attendance at K, it’s vital that we are able to provide accessibility to all elements of the K-Plan: funds for study abroad, stipends for internships and externships, funding for student research projects, and programs that support career and professional development. These experiential K-Plan elements make our students’ college experience stand out from their peers. Each year, a number of students and their families must choose to forego these life-changing opportunities due to financial obstacles.

Through your support, you can directly influence the lives of talented students who would not otherwise be able to experience the College’s exceptional opportunities and empower them to make a difference in the world as K alumni.
