Hornet student-athletes constitute 25% of the student population. The educational case for providing enriching athletic opportunities is compelling: sports offer the chance to learn how to turn peers into teammates and demonstrate that everyone has the opportunity to lead on the field, in the gym, on the pitch and in the pool, as well as in the classroom. K has made significant commitments to Hornet Athletics over the past decade, investments that have made a difference in the lives of K student-athletes and have contributed to morale and pride throughout the College among students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents and friends.
We seek to grow endowed and annual funding to make program budgets more robust, ensure equity across all sports, recruit and retain coaches, and undertake capital projects such as turfing the fields, and improving office spaces.
At the heart of the K residential experience is our beautiful and historic campus. For our “Fair Arcadian Hill” to remain a welcoming beacon for current and future generations of students in the 21st century, it is critical that the College continue to invest in the facilities classroom technology and laboratory innovations, residential halls and athletics infrastructure that make K a hearth and home for its community.
Recent renovations to the iconic Stetson Chapel, upgrades to classrooms to support collaborative and active learning, and the opening of the new state-of-the-art natatorium are just the some of the exciting projects the Brighter Light Campaign has helped to support.
We invite you to invest in providing welcoming and modernized spaces for students to live, learn and play now and for years to come.
