1993 Women’s Volleyball Team — 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame

The 1993 Volleyball Hornets were co-champions of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, posting a 10-win and two-loss conference record. The team’s overall record was 26 wins and 15 losses, and the team competed in the NCAA Division III regional tournament. Team members included co-captain Nikki Frost, co-captain Mary Siwajek, Jennifer West, Anita Grinbergs, Julia Haarer, Cara Marker, Phyllis Perry, Amy Anderson, Beth Burgess, Julie Dicks, Mary Helen Diegel, Susie Faremouth, Heather Mernitz, Hannah Ruggles, and Alison Waldenstrom.

Siwajek, Marker, Grinbergs, and Perry earned all-conference honors. Siwajek was MIAA MVP and named to the all-region team.

Jeanne Hess coached the team. She was assisted by Dawn Jaqua, Teresa Knoechel, and Scott Mais. Abby Kirkwood served as the team’s manager.
