1990 Men's Tennis Team

The 1990 Men’s Tennis Hornets were the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champions with a six-win, no-losses conference record. Their overall record was 23 wins against eight losses. The team finished third in the nation at the NCAA Division III championship tournament. 1990 was the year that head coach George Acker was selected as Coach of the Decade by his Division III coaching peers.

Members of the 1990 team included Matt Benson, Randy Blau, George Earl, Nathan Eddy, co-captain Jeff Fieldhack, David Helfer, co-captain Doug Keen, Tony Kirk, Lewis Miller, James Osowksi, Geoff Price, Kyle Pullen, Mark Rampy, John Ray-Keil, Robert Saxton, Mark Spitz-Nagel, Dave Tyggum, co-captain Greg Wood, and David Garden.

Keen, Fieldhack, and Miller were all-MIAA selections, and Keen was named conference MVP. Earning All-American honors that season were Keen in singles and doubles, Miller in singles, and Fieldhack in doubles.
