Established in 1987, the 1833 Society is the leadership giving society of the Kalamazoo College Fund. The 1833 Society honors a distinguished group of annual contributors who play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of the College and make a profound statement about the value of a Kalamazoo College education.
Gifts at the 1833 Society level account for more than 67% of the total dollars raised through the Kalamazoo College Fund. 1833 Society members are able to direct gifts to one or more areas of need, including scholarships, faculty excellence, and K’s greatest needs.
Gifts of $1,000 or more ensure membership in the 1833 Society. You are welcome to spread your payments throughout the year, or to use your matching gift dollars from your employer to become part of the 1833 Society. However, all gifts must be received within the fiscal year, July 1-June 30.
Members of the 1833 Society are invited to many events throughout the year. This year’s events include a wine and cheese reception with President Eileen B. Wilson Oyelaran on Saturday, October 24, 2015 during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, and the Kalamazoo Bach Festival Christmas concert and holiday buffet at the home of the president on Sunday, December 6, 2015.
