Chau Ta \u201925, Benjamin Whitsett \u201927 and Cole Koryto \u201925 represented K in a computer science contest where they bested five teams from the University of Michigan, a team from Michigan State and a team from Harvard among others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

5. Hungary Satisfies Student\u2019s Hunger for Neuroscience<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vivian Schmidt \u201925 might one day advance the fight against neurological disorders such as ALS, Alzheimer\u2019s disease and Parkinson\u2019s disease. Her recent study abroad experience is one reason why. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

K\u2019s squad earned an Honorable Mention Delegation award at the National Model United Nations in New York in April, and several awards at the Midwest Model UN conference in St. Louis in February. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

3. Six New Heyl Scholars Choose K<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heyl scholarships have enabled hundreds of high school graduates from Kalamazoo County to attend Kalamazoo College for STEM-focused majors or Western Michigan University for nursing, with renewable benefits for up to four years that cover tuition, fees, housing and a book allowance.\u202f  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
