Students, faculty, staff and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kzoo.edu\/alumni\/\">alumni<\/a> are eligible to participate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe COVID-19 pandemic will forever define the year 2020,\u201d College Archivist Lisa Murphy said. \u201cFifty years from now Kalamazoo College students and other researchers will want to know what it was like to be a student during this time. How did they cope with the sudden switch to online learning? Was social distancing difficult? Were they scared? What did they do for fun if they were confined indoors? This pandemic has already changed lives and capturing these stories now will help to document how not just the college, but the world, has transformed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When their submissions are made, participants will have the option to remain anonymous or to make their work available for research or publication after a certain time period has elapsed. Read the Archives website for information about how to participate.<\/p>\n<p>In regards to other services, students, faculty and staff are commending the library and its staffers for continuing to connect them with reference materials and resources through the term in distance learning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe curate online resources for our students, faculty and staff so they don\u2019t have to rely on an overwhelming amount of information,\u201d Library Director Stacy Nowicki said. \u201cThe easiest thing is to Google the information you need. But we can help you determine what the best resources are that aren\u2019t going to show up in Google. &#8220;And sometimes the resources we pay for aren&#8217;t as intuitive, but they are more authoritative. We can teach people how to use the technology and add depth to their experience when they do research or prepare for class.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you\u2019re not sure where to begin with your projects or assignments, the online Research Guides can help you get started.\u00a0Check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.kzoo.edu\/az.php\">A to Z List of Databases<\/a> if you know what specific resource you want\u00a0to use.<\/li>\n<li>Reference librarians can help students and faculty find the ideal resources they need for their daily assignments and research. They\u2019re available for individual consultations\u00a0through email, web calls and virtual chats in teams.\u00a0Sign up for an appointment with them at <a href=\"mailto:reference@kzoo.edu\">reference@kzoo.edu\u200b<\/a>. If you have a specific question, submit through the <a href=\"https:\/\/library.kzoo.edu\/help-and-services\/ask-a-librarian\/\">ask a librarian online form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019re looking for a specific book or journal, easy online resources are at your fingertips. Find journals online through the <a href=\"https:\/\/browzine.com\/libraries\/1138\/subjects?sort=rank\">BrowZine<\/a>You can also access online journals and thousands of ebooks through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/col-kzoo.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/search?vid=01COL_KZOO:KZOO&amp;lang=en\">Library OneSearch<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Interlibrary Loan (ILL) supplements the library\u2019s resources by providing materials not available on campus. Through ILL, students, faculty and staff may obtain materials such as books, chapters, and journal articles that are not available in the library collection.\u00a0 To request materials through Interlibrary Loan, complete and submit a request form in the <a href=\"https:\/\/1457.account.worldcat.org\/profile\">Interlibrary Loan system<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For further summaries of available library services, check out the guide for faculty and the guide for students online. Students, faculty, staff and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kzoo.edu\/alumni\/\">alumni<\/a> are eligible to participate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe COVID-19 pandemic will forever define the year 2020,\u201d College Archivist Lisa Murphy said. \u201cFifty years from now Kalamazoo College students and other researchers will want to know what it was like to be a student during this time. How did they cope with the sudden switch to online learning? Was social distancing difficult? Were they scared? What did they do for fun if they were confined indoors? This pandemic has already changed lives and capturing these stories now will help to document how not just the college, but the world, has transformed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When their submissions are made, participants will have the option to remain anonymous or to make their work available for research or publication after a certain time period has elapsed. Read the Archives website for information about how to participate.<\/p>\n<p>In regards to other services, students, faculty and staff are commending the library and its staffers for continuing to connect them with reference materials and resources through the term in distance learning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe curate online resources for our students, faculty and staff so they don\u2019t have to rely on an overwhelming amount of information,\u201d Library Director Stacy Nowicki said. \u201cThe easiest thing is to Google the information you need. But we can help you determine what the best resources are that aren\u2019t going to show up in Google. &#8220;And sometimes the resources we pay for aren&#8217;t as intuitive, but they are more authoritative. Find journals online through the <a href=\"https:\/\/browzine.com\/libraries\/1138\/subjects?sort=rank\">BrowZine<\/a>You can also access online journals and thousands of ebooks through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/col-kzoo.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/search?vid=01COL_KZOO:KZOO&amp;lang=en\">Library OneSearch<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Interlibrary Loan (ILL) supplements the library\u2019s resources by providing materials not available on campus.
