Move-in day is an exciting time at Kalamazoo College and we\u2019re eager to welcome the Class of 2023. Orientation-related events will continue throughout the week, but here\u2019s what students and families can expect Tuesday, Sept. 10, when they arrive.<\/p>\n

When You Arrive<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peer leaders will be available to check in new students from 9 a.m.\u20143 p.m. on move-in day, which is Tuesday, Sept. 10. Harmon, Hoben and Trowbridge residents should report to their halls. DeWaters residents should report to Trowbridge.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Student move-in day will run from 9 a.m.\u20143 p.m. on Sept. 10.<\/p>\n

The morning is traditionally the busiest time for moving in, and families are encouraged to move in and pick up their orientation packets at times throughout the day to avoid crowds. Peer leaders will be available at check-in tables at Harmon<\/a>, Hoben<\/a> and Trowbridge<\/a> halls. DeWaters residents should check in at Trowbridge Hall. Residential Life<\/a> staff also will be on hand to give students their College IDs and room keys.<\/p>\n

Students and families who expect to be delayed until after 3 p.m. should contact Student Development at housing@kzoo.edu<\/a> or 269.337.7210 as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

Residential Life requires that health verification forms be complete before students move in. Students with incomplete health information will be directed to the Health Center<\/a> at Hicks Student Center<\/a>. Health Center staff will be available from 9 a.m.\u20144 p.m.<\/p>\n

Questions Answered<\/strong><\/p>\n

College representatives will staff an information table from 9 a.m.\u20145 p.m. at Hicks Student Center<\/a>. Stop by for schedules, maps, directions and answers to any questions you might have. K\u2019s bookstore will be open during the same hours in Hicks, offering 20 percent off Kalamazoo College imprinted items.<\/p>\n

Connect to the Network<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students who have questions about connecting to K\u2019s wireless network can meet Information Services staff from 1\u20144 p.m. in the main lounges at Harmon<\/a>, Hoben<\/a> and Trowbridge<\/a> halls.<\/p>\n

Observe Athletics Practices, Games<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eight intercollegiate fall athletics teams including football<\/a>, men\u2019s soccer<\/a>, women\u2019s soccer<\/a>, volleyball<\/a>, men\u2019s golf<\/a>, women\u2019s golf<\/a>, men\u2019s cross country<\/a> and women\u2019s cross country<\/a> will hold practices and competitions from 3\u20146 p.m. Visit the Athletics website<\/a> for each team\u2019s schedule.<\/p>\n

Enjoy Dinner<\/strong><\/p>\n

Families are welcome to have dinner between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on campus at Welles Dining Hall<\/a> or go off campus to local restaurants. New students may use their student ID, which also serves as a meal card, to access the dining hall. Families may pay $10.50 per person at the dining hall entrance.<\/p>\n

First-Year Seminars<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meet your first-year seminar group and peer leaders from 7\u20147:45 p.m. in the first-year seminar rooms to talk about the orientation schedule.<\/p>\n

Feel Welcome<\/strong><\/p>\n

President Jorge G. Gonzalez, Vice President for Student Development and Dean of Students Sarah Westfall, Provost Danette Ifert Johnson and Associate Dean of Students Dana Jansma will greet parents and families from 3:30\u20144:45 p.m. at Stetson Chapel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Later, Gonzalez, Westfall, First-Year Class Dean Jennifer Einspahr, College Chaplain Liz Candido, peer leaders and the Office of Student Involvement will conduct the Hornet Student Welcome from 8\u20148:45 p.m. at Stetson Chapel<\/a>. Students should sit with their seminar groups. The event concludes with seminar groups connecting with their peer leaders.<\/p>\n

Connect with Your Community<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meet Residential Life staff, your RAs and student peers at 8:45 p.m. Harmon Hall<\/a> residents will meet at Dalton Theatre in the Light Fine Arts Building<\/a>. Hoben Hall<\/a> residents will meet in the Hoben lounge. Trowbridge Hall<\/a> residents will meet at Stetson Chapel<\/a>. DeWaters Hall<\/a> residents will meet in the hall\u2019s second-floor lounge. DeWaters residents should report to Trowbridge.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Student move-in day will run from 9 a.m.\u20143 p.m. on Sept. 10.<\/p>\n<p>The morning is traditionally the busiest time for moving in, and families are encouraged to move in and pick up their orientation packets at times throughout the day to avoid crowds. Peer leaders will be available at check-in tables at <a href=\"https:\/\/map.concept3d.com\/?id=198#!m\/17916\">Harmon<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/map.concept3d.com\/?id=198#!m\/17920\">Hoben<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/map.concept3d.com\/?id=198#!m\/18259\">Trowbridge<\/a> halls. DeWaters residents should check in at Trowbridge Hall. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kzoo.edu\/student-life\/residential-living\/\">Residential Life<\/a> staff also will be on hand to give students their College IDs and room keys.<\/p>\n<p>Students and families who expect to be delayed until after 3 p.m. should contact Student Development at <a href=\"mailto:housing@kzoo.edu\">housing@kzoo.edu<\/a> or 269.337.7210 as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Residential Life requires that health verification forms be complete before students move in. Students with incomplete health information will be directed to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kzoo.edu\/student-life\/health-center\/\">Health Center<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/map.concept3d.com\/?id=198#!m\/17918\">Hicks Student Center<\/a>. Health Center staff will be available from 9 a.m.\u20144 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Questions Answered<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>College representatives will staff an information table from 9 a.m.\u20145 p.m. at <a href=\"https:\/\/map.concept3d.com\/?id=198#!m\/17918\">Hicks Student Center<\/a>. Stop by for schedules, maps, directions and answers to any questions you might have. New students may use their student ID, which also serves as a meal card, to access the dining hall.
