We use targeted emails, social media posts, videos and advocacy to get the message out. Coaches, athletics staff and advocates can help promote the day by participating in personalized outreach. This might include encouraging your team(s), teammates and friends to share the College\u2019s social media posts, create your own posts, and create giving challenges and donation matching. You\u2019ll find instructions below.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue to promote Hornet Athletics Giving Day via social media and other contacts&nbsp;<strong>throughout the day<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Show appreciation<\/strong>&nbsp;by thanking donors who have responded to your outreach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"color:#ea6820\" class=\"wp-block-atomic-blocks-ab-spacer brighter ab-block-spacer ab-divider-solid ab-spacer-divider ab-divider-size-1\"><hr style=\"height:40px\" \/><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-two-steps-to-getting-started\">Advocates: Two Steps to Getting Started<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-2-creating-a-matching-gift-or-challenge\">Step 1: Creating a Matching Gift or Challenge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As advocates, you can further inspire your teammates and K friends by creating a matching gift or challenge. Matches and challenges are similar, but there is a key difference:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list pad-left\">\n<li>Matching Gifts are made on a per-donor or per-dollar basis:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cI will match up to $500 dollar-for-dollar for the next $500 that is donated to Women\u2019s Basketball.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Challenges are milestone-based:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cIf 50 people donate to Men\u2019s Lacrosse, I will give $250.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend you make your match or challenge as simple as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-2-creating-a-matching-gift-or-challenge\">Step 2: Plan Your Outreach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After you have made your match or challenge on the campaign webpage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the <a href=\"#communication-timeline\">communication timeline<\/a> and <a href=\"#sample-posts\">sample social media posts<\/a> for your outreach. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download one of our <a href=\"#sample-images\">social media images<\/a> to include with your messages. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Don&#8217;t forget to use your giving link to track your progress on the day! <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"color:#ea6820\" class=\"wp-block-atomic-blocks-ab-spacer brighter ab-block-spacer ab-divider-solid ab-spacer-divider ab-divider-size-1\"><hr style=\"height:40px\" \/><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"communication-timeline\">Communication Timeline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Advocates and coaches are encouraged to share an awareness or \u201csave the date\u201d post in advance of the day and post throughout Hornet Athletics Giving Day itself.
