Aisat Oladokun ’21 Shares Her Story

Aisat Oladokun ’21 had an epiphany while studying abroad in Costa Rica. Learning about its national medical system solidified her interest in pursuing a master’s in public health and a career that will help make the world a healthier place.

“I am so grateful to have found my calling and happy to say that I will be graduating from K with a bachelor’s in English and a concentration in community and global health,” said Oladokun.

Although she originally chose K for its 3/2 engineering program, the diverse offerings of the K-Plan allowed her to take full advantage of the liberal arts experience which eventually drew her toward her true passion—public health.

In this video, Oladokun shares the story of her K experience, which includes her involvement leading workshops at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home, as well as her Senior Individualized Project on correctional facilities and their inability to handle COVID-19.
