At K, the faculty inspire our mission. They are responsible for what students learn in class and, in part, for how students apply that learning to provide leadership in addressing the world\u2019s challenges. K\u2019s teacher-scholars never stop learning. They keep pace with new advancements in their disciplines and share that knowledge with students in ways that ignite their passion for learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, K staff contribute to some of our students\u2019 most transformational experiences, leading programs dedicated to student life, study abroad, career development, community engagement, environmental sustainability and athletics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our faculty and staff members serve as advisors, motivators, counselors, and guides for generations of K students and alumni.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interdisciplinary Scholarship and Research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Center for Environmental Stewardship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A key component of a K education is teaching students to think critically about the human impact on the environment in which they live. A campus leader in this important work is K\u2019s interdisciplinary Center for Environmental Stewardship<\/a>, which helps prepare graduates to live and work in a global economy and respond to the unprecedented demands on the world\u2019s natural resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solving complex environmental challenges requires ideas from a broad range of disciplines. The Center for Environmental Stewardship builds on K\u2019s successful environmental studies program and integrates campus and community efforts seeking to address issues such as energy efficiency, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and sustainable food resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this work to continue, K seeks to build an endowment that can make the Center self-sustaining, ensuring it has the leadership and resources to make a lasting impact, locally and globally.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
