Kyle Harding \u201902 joins the Kalamazoo College Athletic Hall of Fame with his older brother Dan \u201900. The Harding brothers, the only sibling duo ever inducted, are a formidable force in the annals of Hornet tennis. Together with their teammates, including brother Matt \u201805, Dan and Kyle helped the Kalamazoo College tennis program maintain its status as one of the most dominant in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle was a seven-time NCAA Division III All-American, three times in singles and four times in doubles. He was named to the All-MIAA First Team four straight years (1999\u20132002) and earned MIAA Most Valuable Player honors twice, meaning a Harding was conference MVP every year from 1999 to 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In singles, Kyle posted a career record of 58\u201335. In doubles, both brothers tallied 69 career wins, many while partnered together. Kyle played on four MIAA championship squads, and each of his teams placed in the top 10 nationally; finishing 2nd, 9th, 9th, and 5th. He was a champion of the Ohio Regional and participant in the Rolex National Small College Championships in both 1998 and 1999\u2014prestigious invitations reserved for the top players in the country. In his senior season, he and Jeff Keen \u201802 were NCAA Division III National Doubles Finalists. Kyle also earned CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-American recognition and the MIAA Lawrence Green Award, honoring the top scholar-athlete across all sports in the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kyle majored in political science and studied abroad in Germany. At K, he met his wife, K volleyball alum Leah (Hays) \u201903, and one of his biggest mentors, fellow Hornet tennis alum Gerald Rosen \u201973, former U.S. district judge for the Eastern District of Michigan. After K, Kyle earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and has worked at Chapman and Cutler LLP, where he is now Co-Practice Group Leader of the Public Finance Group, since 2005. He lives in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, with Leah and their two kids, Nicklas and Piper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
