Chicago Aquarium Trip!

A couple of Saturdays ago, I found myself driving a van full of high-spirited K College students to Chicago. I couldn’t help but get that kind of wonderful road-trip-with-friends feeling as we cruised down the highway with the music pumping.

The van I drove, along with several other vans full of students, was on its way to the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.

Almost 40 students went to the Shedd that weekend; with the help of funding from Student Commission and the group rate from the aquarium, students only had to pay $5 to reserve their spot for the Saturday trip.

Once we got there, I re-learned why Chicago is called the “Windy City”:

At the aquarium, I was enchanted by beluga whales and learned about bio-luminescent jellyfish.

It ended up being the perfect way to get off campus and do something exciting at the end of a stressful week. And of course, it reminded me of how great it is to be a part of a community that makes fun events like this so easy to be a part of!
