Perhaps you know someone who might be interested! Please help me get the word out to them. Who Might Be Interested: Naturally, those with a theater background, but also to those compelled by the season theme. This might include those interested in community-sustained agriculture, community-based organizing, cultural studies, anthropology, the humanities and arts and a host of other disciplines. And of course, “foodies!” General Description of the Internship Interns work closely with the staff and the visiting artists to execute the full range of summer activities, including mounting and running of shows, assisting with rehearsal residencies where new work is being created, hosting the visiting artists and workshop students, and the creation of visual displays about the work. Interns are full members of the artistic community at the festival, and as such are encouraged to participate in the discussions that follow all the performances at the festival. Experience, particularly in the technical and front-of-house aspects of theatre production, is welcome – but all interns will receive additional training for their work, which will be in a multiplicity of production areas. Useful Information All activities will be held on the Amherst College campus in Amherst, MA July 5 - August 12. Internship dates may be somewhat flexible. Interns are housed on campus with the artists in a wonderful mansion with a large and fully-equipped kitchen. Interns are eligible to use the state-of-the-art campus gym and pool. There is a bike path right near the housing and the center of Amherst is just a short walk away.
