Student
Conduct Procedures: Sanctions
The
Dean of Students staff is responsible for implementing sanctions
established through the Student Conduct Process and for maintaining
appropriate records. Student conduct actions will be communicated
to the student and copied to the student's file at the College,
and others if necessary, and according to the Federal Educational
Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Such files are maintained
for seven years after graduation. In the cases of suspension
and expulsion, the sanction is noted on a student's transcript
and is permanent.

Level
I Probation. A student or organization may be placed on
level I probation for up to three quarters of enrollment.
During the probationary period, a student or organization
may be required to do community restitution hours, pay a fine,
be subject to parental notification, or other sanctions, or
have activities or privileges restricted. Failure to abide
by the conditions of the probation or complete the sanctions
will result in level II probation.
Level
II Probation. A student or organization may be placed
on level II probation for up to six quarters/two years of
enrollment. The full range of sanctions available to the College
may be assigned or activities and privileges may be restricted.
Restrictions may include, but are not limited to, activities,
computer use, athletic participation, social events, Study
Abroad, Career Development, etc. Failure to abide by the conditions
of the probation or complete sanctions will result in suspension.
Suspension.
This action terminates a student's enrollment or an organization's
existence as a recognized organization for up to six quarters/two
years of enrollment. Suspension may require that other requirements
be met before a student may be re-enrolled at the College
or an organization may be re-instated.
Expulsion.
This action permanently separates a student or an organization
from the College. Students are not eligible for readmission.
Organizations are not eligible for reinstatement.
Sanctions
of suspension or expulsion require a student to leave the
campus within 24 hours. A student may not return to the campus
without prior written permission from the Dean of Students.
Organizations or groups who receive either sanction must cease
using College facilities, funds, and resources, and lose all
privileges.
