Kaleidoscope
Mission Statement:
As the organization devoted to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender student identities at Kalamazoo College,
Kaleidoscope recognizes its responsibilities as tri-fold:
· To provide a safe space where LGBT and questioning students—and their allies—can receive the support and community necessary for fruitful identity formation;
· To educate the college regarding the presence of its LGBT community through campus events, activities, and open dialogue;
· To engage in social and political outreach activities within the greater LGBT community, and within the human community as such.
In its balance of these three tenets Kaleidoscope affirms its commitment to identifying homophobia and heterosexism,
nurturing identities in transition, and encouraging self-expression for all members and allies of the queer community
