"I have
the overall supervision of the college security staff which
operates on a 24-hour basis to help make our campus a safe environment.
I retired from the Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post after
23 years of service. I am married with three children, and enjoy
coaching youth sports."
Tim Young came to Kalamazoo College in 2005 after a distinguished
career retiring as a First Lieutenant, Post Commander of the
Paw Paw State Police Post. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Spring Arbor College, is a US Army Veteran, and has extensive
training in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. In his
role as Director, Mr. Young hires, trains, and supervises a
staff of security officers who patrol the campus and respond
to emergencies and crimes. He also oversees the automobile registrations
system and the parking regulations. Mr. Young investigates charges
of criminal or policy violation and is the campus liaison with
the city of Kalamazoo.
