Disability
Services: Student Responsibilities
In compliance
with section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as Amended,
and with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA),
Kalamazoo College recognizes that qualified students who have
diagnosed or identified learning, physical and emotional disabilities
are entitled to benefit from the educational programs of the
college if reasonable accommodations can be arranged, unless
that imposes an undue hardship or burden.
As Kalamazoo
College is obligated to make accommodations to lessen the
impact of learning disabilities on academic performance, so
is the student obligated to certain actions that will assure
the effectiveness of these accommodations. Acting on these
"responsibilities of the learning-disabled student"
will not only facilitate current academic success, but also
provide the foundation for success in post-graduate life.
