LandSea Wilderness Experience

Kalamazoo’s optional LandSea program takes place in Killarney Provincial Park, a natural wilderness area located on Georgian Bay south of Sudbury, Ontario. Participants backpack, canoe, climb, rappel, and solo.

LandSea provides a bridge from high school to college, establisheshes strong support group among participating students, builds awareness, esteem, confidence, responsibility, and self-reliance.

LandSea provides an opportunity to become acquainted with other first-year students and upper class leaders at a personal level prior to formal classes on campus. LandSea's physical, psychological, emotional, and mental challenges provide opportunities for personal development and self-discovery. Students become more aware of their abilities and more confident to seek out further challenges.
