Kalamazoo College at Saint Mary's College (MIAA Tournament
First Round)
Kalamazoo and Saint Mary's battled to a scoreless tie after
110 minutes of play (90 minutes regulation, 2-10 minute overtime
periods), so the MIAA Tournament first-round match went to
a shootout to determine which team would advance. Kalamazoo
won the shootout, 4-3. Each team had five attempts in the
shootout. Kalamazoo converted on four (Kelly Lepper, Jenn
Russart, Paige Howell and Kari Brodsky). Kalamazoo advances
to Tuesday's MIAA Semifinals at MIAA regular-season champion
Calvin. Kalamazoo outshot Saint Mary's 14-9 in regulation.
Kassie Johnston made five saves for the Hornets.
