Golf Headlines Hannah Masuga, Ashley Arnoldi named to NGCA
All-American Scholar Team
Kalamazoo College women's golfers Hannah Masuga
and Ashley Arnoldi have been recognized on the 2008-09 National Golf Coaches
Association All-American Scholar Team. The criteria
for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is a
minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, and the student-athletes
must have competed in at least 66 percent of the college's
regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Masuga, a senior biology major from Ann Arbor (Huron), has earned
this honor all four years. She played in 13
matches this season with an average score of 91.8. In six MIAA matches, Masuga averaged 88.3 per round, earning her All-MIAA Second Team honors. Arnoldi, a sophomore political science major from Twin Lake (Reeths Puffer), also averaged 91.8 in 13 matches this season.

Golf sixth at final MIAA Spring Round
The women's golf team was sixth at
the final MIAA Spring Round on Saturday, April 25 at
Olivet. Kalamazoo shot 398 as a team, led by Meghan
Turner's round of 90. Ashley Arnoldi shot a 94. Hannah
Masuga came in at 102 and Taylor Sruba shot a 112.

The women's golf team finished sixth
with a team score of 406 at the second MIAA Spring Round
hosted by Olivet. Meghan Turner led Kalamazoo with a
95. Ashley Arnoldi shot a 96. Hannah Masuga shot 100

round on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.

The women's golf team finished seventh
at the first of three rounds of spring MIAA competition.
The Hornets had just three players in the opening round.
Ashley Arnoldi led the team and finished 15th overall
with a score of 89. Hannah Masuga shot a 96. Results

Second Team honors
Hannah Masuga, a senior from Ann Arbor (Huron
HS), earned All-MIAA Second Team honors for the 2008
season. Masuga averaged 88.3 in league play with a season-best
83 at Zollner.
Women's
Golf fourth at MIAA Tournament
The women's golf team finished fourth at the
MIAA Championships held Oct. 10-11 at Bedford Valley.
Kalamazoo had a two-day score of 747, just three strokes
ahead of fifth-place Albion. Combined with the four
league jamborees, Kalamazoo finished sixth overall for
the season with 2220 strokes, just two behind fifth-place
Trine (2218). Tournament

Women's Golf second at Siena
Heights Invitational
The women's golf team tied for second place at
the Siena Heights Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Kalamazoo and Madonna University each shot 372. Ferris
State won the event with a 358. Siena Heights was fourth
at 413 and Calvin fifth with 422. Ashley Arnoldi and
Meghan Turner each shot a 91 and were named to the All-Tournament

The women's golf team finished sixth at the MIAA
Jamboree hosted by Adrian on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Kalamazoo
shot 372, just one stroke behind fifth place Alma, and
one stroke ahead of Trine. Ashley Arnoldi led Kalamazoo

Women's Golf breaks school
record again
The women's golf team broke the school record
for team score for the second time in less than a week.
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, Kalamazoo shot a 359 at Calvin.
On Sunday, Sept. 28, Kalamazoo beat that score with
a 355 at the DePauw (Ind.) Small College Classic. The
previous best entering this season was 362 set in 2005.
Kalamazoo finished 11th overall in the 13-team field.
Meghan Turner shot 88 on consecutive days. Hannah Masuga
followed Saturday's 92 with an 84. Ashley Arnoldi shot
92 on Saturday and 86 on Sunday. Results

DePauw Small College Classic
The women's golf team is at the DePauw (Ind.)
Small College Classic this weekend. The Hornets shot
a team score of 367 on Saturday, leaving the Hornets
in a tie for 11th place out of 13 teams. Meghan Turner
led Kalamazoo with an 88. Play concludes with a round
of 18 holes on Sunday. Results

record at MIAA Jamboree
The Kalamazoo College women's golf team set a
school record for lowest team score with a round of
359 at the MIAA Jamboree hosted by Calvin on Wednesday,
Sept. 24. Kalamazoo finished sixth overall, just four
strokes out of fifth place and five strokes out of fourth
place. Hannah Masuga and Kristie McAlpine each shot
an 88 for Kalamazoo. Meghan Turner shot an 89. Results

The women's golf team finished third at the St.
Joseph's College Invitational on Monday, Sept. 8. Kalamazoo
shot 386. Tiffin shot a 362 while St. Joseph's shot
371. Ashley Arnoldi led Kalamazoo with an 88. Results

The women's golf team finished fifth out of nine
teams at the first MIAA Jamboree of the season on Thursday,
Sept. 4. Kalamazoo had a team score of 379, 13 strokes
behind Albion and five strokes ahead of Alma. Hannah
Masuga led Kalamazoo with a round of 87, good for 16th
