OBERLIN, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball
team suffered a 54-47 loss at Oberlin College on Monday. Kalamazoo
led 24-12 at halftime after Oberlin shot just 14 percent in
the first half. Kalamazoo held a 13-point lead with 8:43 left
in the second half, but Oberlin went on a 15-point run and
held Kalamazoo to just one point over the game's final eight
minutes.
Kelsea Howell led the Hornets with 16 points on 7-of-16 shooting.
Allie Oosta added nine points. Therese Demres had nine rebounds.
Sara Lappan scored six points with eight rebounds.
Jessie Oram led Oberlin with 26 points and 10 rebounds on
10-of-22 shooting.
Kalamazoo shot 31 percent from the field (0-12 3FG) for the
game while Oberlin also shot 31 percent (2-10 3FG). Kalamazoo
committed 32 turnovers to Oberlin's 29.
Kalamazoo returns to action on Wednesday when the Hornets
travel to Calvin for the MIAA opener.
