2006-07 Kalamazoo College Women's Basketball

CHICAGO - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 76-58 to the University of Chicago in the season-opener at Chicago's Midway Classic. Chicago led 35-30 at halftime, but outscored the Hornets 41-28 in the second half.

Kalamazoo shot just 30.2 percent from the field while Chicago shot 40.5 percent. The Hornets did covert on 16-of-23 free throws while Chicago made just 3-of-9. Chicago held a 56-40 rebounding advantage.

Kelsea Howell led Kalamazoo with 17 points and nine rebounds. Briana Hendrix scored 12 points off the bench.

Kalamazoo will play Buena Vista in Sunday's tournament consolation game at 11 a.m. CT.
