KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team
lost 82-71 to Tri-State on Wednesday.
Tri-State took a 49-34 lead into halftime after shooting
51.4 percent in the first half. Tri-State finished the game
at 47 percent while Kalamazoo shot 45.6 percent. Tri-State
made 9-of-22 three-pointers while Kalamazoo was 4-of-15. Tri-State
held a 38-36 rebounding edge, and had just 15 turnovers to
Kalamazoo's 19.
Therese Demres and Kelsea Howell were each one point off
their career-highs. Demres finished with 21 points, six rebounds
and six assists. Howell scored 20 points with seven rebounds
and three steals.
Sarah Howe led Tri-State with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting
with nine rebounds.
Kalamazoo returns to action at home on Saturday when the
Hornets face Calvin College at 3 p.m.
