GRAND RAPIDS - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team gave top-seeded Calin a scare on Thursday, but eventually fell 59-53 in the MIAA Tournament semi-finals. Kalamazoo led 25-15 at halftime.
Kalamazoo shot 43.1 percent from the field while Calvin shot 38.6 percent. Calvin sank 24-of-31 free throws while Kalamazoo was 5-for-10. Calvin held a 36-23 rebounding advantage.
Angie Neu led the Hornets with 15 points. Mary Brown added 10 points with five assists.
Lisa Winkle led Calvin with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Lisa Nanninga added 16 points and six rebounds for the Knights (23-3).
