KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team suffered a 71-38 loss to Albion College at home on Wednesday. The Hornets trailed 36-18 at halftime.
Albion shot 46 percent from the field and hit 8-of-20 three-pointers (40%) while holding Kalamazoo to 32.5 percent shooting and 1-for-7 from behind the arch. Albion held a 36-27 rebounding advantage and committed just 12 turnovers to Kalamazoo's 21.
Sarah Caskey led Albion with 24 points and six rebounds. Ruthie Sventickas added 12 points and five rebounds for the Britons (17-4, 8-3 MIAA).
Mary Brown had 11 points and eight rebounds to lead Kalamazoo. Lindsay Basler added 10 points and Ashley Riley finished with eight.
