
Women's Basketball defeats ConcordiaConcordia took an 8-2 lead to start the game, but Kalamazoo recovered and took a 39-25 lead into halftime. Kalamazoo shot 37.1 percent from the file. Concordia hit 36.7 percent of their shots. Kalamazoo held a 43-42 rebounding advantage. Concordia turned the ball over 34 times. The Hornets had 28 turnovers. MaryJane Valade led all scorers with 16 points. She now has 1,140 point for her career and is three shy of becoming the fourth leading scorer in school history. She also pulled down a team-best seven rebounds. Alissa Johnston and Lindsay Drury each scored 11 points. Amanda Weishuhn added 10. Erin Heffelfinger led Concordia with 13 points. Kalamazoo (8-2) begins MIAA play on Wednesday, Jan. 3 when they travel to Hope College. |
