OHIO - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost their final two games of the season at Bluffton College Tuesday afternoon.

The Hornets managed only three hits in a 6-2 loss in game one. Elli Toskey took the loss despite allowing only three earned runs. Erin Rumery, Teri Fox and Megan Deats had the only hits for Kalamazoo.

Game two was a little closer. Kalamazoo still managed to get only three hits, but took advantage of five Bluffton errors to take an 3-0 lead after three innings. Bluffton scored three in the fifth to tie the game. Kalamazoo went back on top (4-3) in the top of the sixth, but Bluffton responded with two runs in the bottom half and held the Hornets scoreless in the seventh to end the game, 5-4.

Sarah Martyn started for Kalamazoo and pitched four innings. Toskey came on in relief in the fifth inning and suffered the loss. Shauna Sage was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Megan Deats had a hit and an RBI.

Kalamazoo finishes the season with a 12-24-1 record. Twelve wins ties the mark for second-highest win total in school history (1995, 1998). Kalamazoo won 14 games in 1996.
