Fort Myers, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College softball team earned its first win of the season, 8-0, over LaSell College (Mass.). Emery Engers threw a complete-game, one-hitter. Alicia Dicks sparked the Hornet offense with three hits and four RBI. Shauna Sage added three hits and two RBI.
The Hornets let a 3-2 lead slip away in the bottom of the seventh to lose the second game to Wesleyan University (Conn.), 4-3. Four Kalamazoo errors proved costly in a game that saw each team record seven hits. Erin Rumery and Teri Fox each had two hits for Kalamazoo. One of Fox's hits was a home run.
