Softball drops final two to HillsdaleShauna Sage pitched a solid game in the opener, allowing seven hits in seven innings of work. Hillsdale scored two in the top of the first on a two-run home run to left field and one in the seventh. Kalamazoo managed only three hits. Alicia Dicks, Teri Fox, and Stephanie Getz each singled. Kalamazoo broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning of the second game to take a 2-0 lead. Hillsdale cut the lead to one with a run in the sixth before pulling ahead with three in the top of the seventh on a three-run triple with two outs. Emery Engers pitched the complete game and allowed only one earned run. Dawn Todd and Shauna Sage each singled for Kalamazoo. The Hornets finish the 2000 season with an overall record of 7-19. |
