Softball splits doubleheader at Albion

ALBION - The Kalamazoo College softball team earned its first MIAA win of the season today as they split a doubleheader at Albion College. Albion won the first game 3-1 while the Hornets took game two 9-8.

Each team had seven hits in the first game. Alicia Dicks and Dawn Todd were each 2-for-3. Todd also had an RBI.

Kalamazoo was the home team in the second game and the Hornets took full advantage. With the score tied 8-8 going in to the bottom of the ninth, Shauna Sage doubled to start the inning. Sage advanced to third on a ground out. Megan Deats followed with a single and the game-winning RBI as the Hornets won 9-8. 

Emery Engers was 2-for-2. Nisse Olsen was 2-for-3 with three RBI's. Shauna Sage and Alicia Dicks each had two hits.

Kalamazoo returns to action on Friday when they host Manchester College at 4:00.
