
Softball splits Sunday games
Kalamazoo exploded for a school-record setting 17 hits in the 10-3 win over Augsburg. Emery Engers earned her second win of the season (2-0), allowing five hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Teri Fox had three hits. Erin Rumery, Alicia Dicks, Shauna Sage, Emery Engers, and Megan Deats each had two hits. Sarah Martyn, Nisse Olsen, Dawn Todd, and Meredith Dodson contributed the other hits. Fox also had two RBI's. Kalamazoo trailed 8-0 in the fourth inning against Millikin before putting six runs on the board in the bottom half of the inning. The Hornets cut the deficit to one (8-7) in the bottom of the sixth, but Millikin slammed the door with a nine-run seventh inning. Shauna Sage led Kalamazoo with three hits. Dawn Todd and Megan Deats each had a pair of hits. Kalamazoo (2-2) is off Monday. They play two games Tuesday morning. |
