Softball wins season opener

ORLANDO - The Kalamazoo College women's softball team won its season opener today 5-2 over Mount Vernon Nazarene College in Orlando, Florida. Kalamazoo pounded out 10 hits and was led by Shauna Sage and Teri Fox who each had a double and two RBI's. Freshman Emery Engers earned the win and struck out two batters.

The Hornets second game of the day wasn't as enjoyable. Kalamazoo dropped an 11-1 decision to Denison after committing five errors in the game. Denison had eight hits to Kalamazoo's six. Shauna Sage suffered the loss.

Kalamazoo will play two games Sunday afternoon/evening.
