Kalamazoo College advanced to the finals of the NCAA III Men's Tennis Championships after defeating Trinity University (TX) 4-3 today in Claremont, California.
The Hornets started off on a positive note by winning the critical doubles point concluding with a thrilling match at number two doubles. Trinity jumped out to a good start in singles competition with a win at number five, however wins by Toby Ernst and Kyle Harding kept the Hornets in contention. The match came down to number one singles where Kalamazoo College junior Dan Harding held on to win in three sets.
Kalamazoo will play for its eighth national championship on Sunday at 1:30/4:30 EST against the winner of the other semifinal match between Williams (MA) and UC Santa Cruz (CA).
