DePauw spoiled Kalamazoo's hopes of contending for a national title in front of its home crowd with a dramatic 4-3 win in the championship match of the Midwest Regional at Kalamazoo College's Stowe Stadium today.

The match was tied 3-3 and came down to Toby Ernst (Kalamazoo) and Greg Nammari (DePauw) at five singles. Nammari won the first set, 6-4, and Ernst dominated the second, 6-0. Ernst went up 6-5 in the third set before Nammari forced a tiebreaker that went back and forth with Nammari eventually winning 7-5 in the tiebreaker. With the win, DePauw will return to Kalamazoo next weekend to compete in the eight-team national championship event.
