Men's Tennis hosts Midwest Regional

Kalamazoo College is the site of the 2000 Midwest Regional and the 2000 NCAA III National Championships.
KALAMAZOO - Kalamazoo College's Stowe Stadium will be the site for a portion of the 2000 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Midwest Regional this Saturday and Sunday, May 13 and 14.

Kenyon College (7th seed) will face Kalamazoo (2) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. DePauw (3) will play Denison (5) at 1:00 p.m. The winners will meet on Sunday at noon. The winner of the Midwest Regional will advance to the national championships next week in Kalamazoo.

Kalamazoo enters the tournament with a 15-9 overall record. The Hornets recently captured their 62nd consecutive MIAA championship. Kalamazoo defeated Kenyon, 5-0, and DePauw, 5-1, in the GLCA (Great Lakes Colleges Association) Tournament earlier this season.

Kenyon brings a record of 13-6 into the tournament. DePauw is 19-5 overall and recently finished second in the SCAC (Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference). Denison is 15-7 overall and finished first in the NCAC (North Coast Atlantic Conference). DePauw defeated Denison, 4-3, in the GLCA Tournament while Denison defeated Kenyon, 4-0.

A three-team regional is also being held at Gustavus Adolphus, the number one seed in the region.
