Adrian, a graduate of Kalamazoo Hackett Catholic Central, returned to the Kalamazoo area in 2006 after serving as an assistant coach at Albion College in 2005. Adrian, who helped lead Hackett Catholic Central to three state champions as a player, was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.

Adrian earned a degree in international business from Drake University in 1999 after playing soccer for four seasons and serving as a team captain. As a student at Drake, Adrian participated in a study abroad program in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and completed an independent study of La Academia de Futbol Tahuichi Aguilera.

Adrian taught English and coached soccer in Mexico from 2003-2004. He currently runs his own business, Adrian International, which imports textile replica soccer products from Latin America.

Adrian's brother, Rene "Kip" Adrian, is a 1997 graduate of Kalamazoo College who played soccer for four years. "Kip" was the MIAA MVP in 1996 and also earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.
