Kalamazoo College Coach Approaches 300th Career Victory
Kalamazoo College men’s soccer coach Hardy Fuchs is seeking his 300th
career victory during the 2000 season.
Fuchs has been the head coach in 29 of the program’s 32 years of existence,
and he owns 298 of the College’s 303 men’s soccer victories. Fuchs overall
record stands at 298-126-34 (.688). His record in MIAA contests stands
at 221-68-20 (.748).
The first four games of the 2000 season are on the road. The team opens
up with a tournament at Wabash College Sept. 2-3. They then travel to a
tournament at Ohio Wesleyan Sept. 8-9. The Hornets’ first home game is
Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. against Cornerstone University.
Fuchs’ teams have produced winning records in each of the last 20 seasons.
His teams have won at least 10 games in 18 of those 20 seasons. He has
won nine MIAA championships, including eight of the last 15. He has taken
teams to four NCAA tournaments. Nine NCAA All-Americans and seven MIAA
Most Valuable Players have passed through his program.
