John Evans Named MIAA Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Kalamazoo College men’s soccer player John Evans was named MIAA Player of the Week for his performance in two shutout wins last week. The league-leading Hornets blanked Albion 5-0 and Hope 2-0.

Evans is a junior defensive sweeper from Eastport, Mich. (Petoskey).

The Hornet defense has been impressive throughout the season, shutting out MIAA opponents in five of the Hornets eight league victories. Kalamazoo has allowed the fewest goals in MIAA contests this season with four.

Kalamazoo is 8-0-1 in the MIAA and 11-2-1 overall. As of October 16 Kalamazoo was ranked sixth in the Great Lakes Region. The Hornets host Alma College on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 4 p.m.
