Men's Basketball falls to Defiance

The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team fell a game back in the league standings after losing 81-72 to Defiance College today.

The Hornets took a 43-40 lead into halftime, but a relatively poor shooting performance (34.7 percent) limited Kalamazoo's offensive output. Defiance shot 41 percent.

Steve Thwaites led Kalamazoo with 17 points. Adam Verseput scored 15 while Brad Phillips chipped in 11. Dirk Rhinehart pulled down a team-high seven rebounds along with eight points.

The Hornets fall to 3-3 in the league (9-7 overall) and travel to Calvin College on Wednesday at 7:30.
