Men's Basketball defeats Olivet

The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team picked up an important conference win at home today, defeating Olivet College 85-78.

The Hornets led 41-39 at halftime despite trailing the first seven minutes of the game.

Kalamazoo shot 55 percent from the field while Olivet connected on 43 percent of their attempts. Kalamazoo also won the rebounding battle, 39-28.

Brad Phillips and Adam Verseput paced the Hornets with 15 points apiece. Dirk Rhinehart (14), Nathan Burns (10), and Nick DeYoung (10) also scored in double figures. Verseput pulled down a team-high eight rebounds while Steve Thwaites contributed five assists.
