Men's Basketball advances to tournament championship
The Kalamazoo College men's basketball team advanced to the championship game of its own Micro Vane Holiday Classic by defeating Madonna University 88-60 tonight.
Kalamazoo utilized a balanced offensive attack with four players scoring in double figures. The Hornets shot very well from three-point range, connecting on 46.7 percent (14-30) of those attempts. The Hornets shot 45 percent overall while holding the Crusaders to 40 percent from the field and twelve percent (2-17) from behind the arc.
Brad Phillips (16 points), B.J. Ford (13), Dirk Rhinehart (11), and Steve Thwaites (11) were the leading scorers for Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo will face the College of Wooster in the championship game. Wooster (7-1) defeated Huntington 58-54 (14-2) in the early game.
